Between 2012-15, I worked for an apparel brand called Altamont with designer, Tristan - who I believe first told me about the fantastic music of White Fence (Tim Presley). He mentioned that Tim was a talented artist, as well. His brushwork was so interesting - I loved how his lines alternated between thick and thin. The work felt timeless to me. We connected with Tim and he was receptive to the idea, so we did a small collection with him. Fast forward to 2019 and Tristan and I are happily working together again at RVCA. Tim’s output and reputation had grown substantially since we had worked with him last - so we were delighted when he agreed to connect again on a capsule collection featuring his recent work. His style paired nicely with the brand. RVCA surf advocate and artist, Ford Archbold, seemed like the perfect choice to model, and was generous enough to host the shoot at his studio workspace.
“Tim Presley is an American musician, singer and songwriter, Presley began his career playing with the hardcore punk bands Model American and the Nerve Agents. In 2004 Presley founded the psychedelic rock band Darker My Love. In 2006 he joined The Fall, playing on the LP Reformation Post TLC, and was an occasional guest musician on the band’s later albums. Since 2010, Presley has released music under the name White Fence. As of August 2014, under that name, he has released six studio albums, two live albums, and collaborative albums with Ty Segall and Cate Le Bon.”
